When traveling in the Middle East, upon entering a hotel lobby, a tray of fresh sweet dates would be presented as a welcome. Quickly made, these cheese stuffed dates provide the perfect welcome to your guests regardless of the entree. The cheese is based on your preference but blue cheese, asiago and white cheddar provide a savoy counter to the dates sweetness.
18 large dates
3 oz of 3 cheese varieties (9 0z total)
Split each date on one side to remove pit.
Plate the cheese and allow to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Slice hard cheese in strips to fit dates. Fill dates with the cheese varieties. Place in refrigerator if not serving immediately. Allow to warm to room temperature for 30 minutes prior to serving.
